A self-defense system that works when it matters
Anyone interested in self-defense should have at least some fundamentals in every area of fighting. Most people are not conditioned to the stress of physical violence, or even the threat of it. Many people don't realize the mental fight that comes with the physical fight in a self-defense situation.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gives you body and situational awareness and lets you defend yourself against attackers of all sizes. It is based on the idea that a smaller, weaker person can beat a stronger one by using leverage.
BJJ teaches you to neutralize and control an attacker without striking. Controlling someone is far less likely to get you in trouble than hitting them.
Live training builds real confidence
Every class includes live training against a resisting partner, so the techniques become muscle memory. You find out what works, and you build the confidence to use it when it counts.
A common rule of thumb is that a blue belt, the rank after white, can handle an untrained attacker. That usually takes around a year and a half of consistent training.
Bully-proofing kids
Jiu jitsu teaches kids to walk with confidence and not look like a target. When the skills are needed, a bully doesn't have to be hurt to be stopped. Holding someone down is very different from punching them, which matters when schools suspend both kids in a fight.
For law enforcement and healthcare workers
Police officers, EMTs, nurses and doctors all face people who become aggressive on the job. Jiu jitsu gives them the skills to control a situation without injuring themselves, their partner or the other person.
